Section of road to be renamed temporarily leading up to Remembrance Day

A section of road in lethbridge will be temporarily renamed Veterans Ave. for the week leading up to Remembrance Day. The section of 4 A Ave. S between Stafford Drive and 11 St. takes the seasonal name annually.

City council approved the naming at its meeting on Oct. 25 and also directed administration to work with the Royal Canadian Legion to create a procedure to endure the naming happens annually, without having to come to council for approval each time.

Part of the decision also declared Veterans Week in the city from Nov. 4-11. It also supported Poppy Tag Day on the last Saturday of October.
