Reports of tornado touchdowns as severe weather sweeps across southern Alberta

At least one tornado reportedly touched down in southern Alberta Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:38 p.m. Environment Canada issued a tornado watch for Lethbridge and surrounding communities, with a Tornado warning being issued for parts of Lethbridge County and the M.D. of Taber, including Enchant.

Meteorologists tracked severe thunderstorms as they travelled northeast from the Picture Butte area. With people taking to social media posting sightings of a funnel cloud in the area, with more posts circulating as the storm travelled to the north.

As of 4:45 p.m. Wednesday there were no reports of damages to infrastructure or injuries.
