UPDATE: Cougar sighting reported in the Indian Battle Heights subdivision

UPDATE: Police are advising those on the west-side to be cautious, as the cougar has not been located. As of 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, the cougar’s whereabouts is unknown. Police have advised the impacted schools accordingly and are asking anyone who has seen the cougar to contact 403-328-4444.

The public is being advised to stay away from the Indian Battle Heights subdivision after a reported cougar sighting.

According to the Lethbridge Police Service, officers received the report of the feline predator being spotted in the area around 11:15 a.m.

According to a statement from police, “Fish and Wildlife have been contacted and are working closely with police to find the cougar.”

Officials have connected with schools in the area and advised school officials to keep students inside.
