It was a warmer Thanksgiving in some southern Alberta communities on Monday.
Heat records were set in a trio of regions on October 14.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the following southern Alberta locales set new daily maximum temperature records:
- Bow Island area: 27.9 degrees Celsius
- Surpasses previous record for October 14 of 27.2 set in 1961

- Milk River area: 27.6 degrees Celsius

- Surpasses previous record for October 14 of 23.2 set in 2014

- Records in this area have been kept since 1994
- Waterton Park area: 24.1 degrees Celsius

- Surpasses previous record for October 14 of 22.0 set in 1982

- Records in this area have been kept since 1976
Other areas in the province that set records included the Hendrickson Creek area at 17.9 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record of 17.2 set in 2007, and the Nordegg area at 20.9 degrees Celsius, which surpassed the old record of 19.4 set in 1953.
