The Town of Coalhurst has named two groups as the latest recipients of funding from the Community Support Grant.

The Friends of Coalhurst High School Society will use $2,000 to support the upcoming Breakfast with Santa event, set for December 14.

Meanwhile, the Coalhurst First Responders Society is getting $1,000 to help with its upcoming Christmas Open House on Thursday, December 19.

The Town says roughly $3,000 remains in the 2024 Community Grant Program fund. To be considered this calendar year, applications have to be submitted to [email protected] by Wednesday, December 11.

The Community Grant Program grant is split into two streams.

The ‘Neighbourhood Connections Micro-grant’ is designed to help various neighbourhood projects, gatherings or activities that create cultural and social connections, inclusion and wellbeing for residents.

The ‘Community Support Grant’ helps one-time projects or initiatives, community events, one-time or ongoing social programs or events, or economic development projects.

More information on the program is at the Town of Coalhurst website.
