LPS look for other potential victims after alleged sexual assault

Police are looking for other possible victims of a 36-year-old man who is accused of taking a woman to an isolated area and sexually assaulting her.

According to Lethbridge Police officials, on January 11th an officer was approached by a woman who said she was assaulted earlier that morning by a stranger. The 26-year-old was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital and police began to investigate.

During their investigation, officers determined the alleged victim was offered a ride by an unknown man outside of the downtown library. The victim reported the man stopped at a convenience store before driving to a Northside Park instead of where the woman asked to be taken; this is where she was allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted, before being kicked out of the vehicle.

A description the victim gave police of both the accused and his vehicle, along with video surveillance police released to the public were used to help identify the unknown man.
