Piikani Nation RCMP execute search warrant and seize weapons 

Earlier this week, Piikani Nation RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 20 Street in Brocket. 

As a result of the search, RCMP seized the following: 

  • Illicit drugs. 
  • Prescription medication. 
  • Scales with drug residue, and other indications of drug trafficking. 
  • $1,620 CAD. 
  • Numerous edged weapons, including a prohibited butterfly knife. 
  • Two replica firearms. 
  • Two rifle magazines, including one capable of holding 30 rounds (prohibited device). 

A 36-year-old male and a female youth, both residents of Brocket, were arrested in the residence. The female was released without charges, while the male was charged with the following: 

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance  
  • Possession of Items used in the Trafficking of a Controlled Substance 
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime 
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device 

The male, who cannot be named as the charges have yet to be sworn, was released from custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice May 29.
