UPDATE #2: On Friday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services crews were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call reporting a grass fire near Scenic Drive and 4 Street South.

Three stations responded with a total of 18 firefighters. Crews acted quickly to get ahead of the fire and knock it down before it could cross Scenic Drive into a nearby residential area.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

LFES would like to remind you a River Valley Fire Ban remains in effect. Conditions are extremely dry, and the risk of fire remains high. Please take extra care to extinguish and dispose of smoking materials properly.
