West Lethbridge fires cause roughly $1.75 million in damages

Two house fires on the west side of Lethbridge on Saturday caused significant damage.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to two house fires in the 1200 block of Pacific Circle West at around 2 p.m. on April 12.

In all, 20 firefighters from five stations worked together to tackle the flames, which fully engulfed both homes. Windy conditions made it extra challenging for crew members, but responders managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other homes.

No injuries were reported, and the damage is estimated at $1.75 million. Crews continue to investigate the cause, and the area has since been reopened to local traffic.

Those who do not live in the area are still being asked to avoid it to let emergency investigators and restoration crews safely access and work in the impacted space.
