Police set for training in north Lethbridge

North Lethbridge will serve as a training ground for the Lethbridge Police Service today.

Members of the LPS Critical Incident Team will be participating training scenarios between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., members will be near the Alexander Wilderness Park along the 600 block of Marie Van Haarlem Crescent. Training then shifts to different areas of the north industrial estate until 10 p.m.

Officials say there will be a highly visible police presence during the training exercises, but want to stress that there is no risk to the public, and signs reminding that training is in session will be in the area as a reminder.
