A 25-year-old man is facing charges connected to the alleged break in at several Tim Hortons across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
According to RCMP officials, between June and October of this year officers in both provinces investigated alleged break-ins, including 12 in Alberta and five in Saskatchewan. Over five months of the cross-jurisdictional investigation, police identified Joshua Elliot Moose as the suspect in these incidents and were able to arrest the 25-year-old man in White City Saskatchewan on October 31st.
Subsequently, officers searched the Medicine Hat man’s hotel room, vehicle in Saskatchewan, along with his apartment in Medicine Hat. During this search police seized cash, tools, and firearms. As a result, he is facing several charges in Saskatchewan for break and enter to commit theft and possession of break-in tools and in Alberta, he is facing over 30 charges for break and enter to commit theft, possession of break-in tools, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
Communities in Alberta where Moose is alleged to have broken into Tim Horton’s franchises include Brooks, High River, Hanna, Vermilion, Rocky Mountain House, Rocky View County, Strathmore, Drayton Valley, Didsbury, Stettler, and Wetaskiwin; while the communities in Saskatchewan include, Maple Creek, Kindersley, Swift Current, Saskatoon, and Indian Head. Police services who worked on the case include Alberta RCMP, Medicine Hat Police Service, Indian Head RCMP, White Butte RCMP, RCMP Regina GIS, and members of the Saskatchewan RCMP Police Service Dog.
The 25-year-old has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in a Saskatchewan Court of Justice later this week.
