Teen charged in connection to alleged aggravated assault in December

A 19-year-old is facing charges in connection to an alleged aggravated assault outside a Lethbridge nightclub in mid-December.

On January 1st Lethbridge Police investigators say they were able to identify the man they believe is responsible for the assault. According to officials evidence believed to be connected to the incident including the weapon they believe was used was allegedly located in a residence on the Blood Reserve.

The release from LPS reads, “Working in collaboration with the Blood Tribe Police Service, a search warrant was executed and the man was arrested and transported to Lethbridge.”

On Christmas Eve LPS put out a call to the community asking anyone with information about an alleged aggravated assault outside a downtown nightclub two days earlier to come forward. Police say on December 22nd an officer found a 24-year-old on the ground in medical distress around 5 a.m. when out patrolling. The man was transported to hospital.
