Lethbridge County is asking residents, businesses and road users to share their experiences with this past winter’s snow maintenance and removal services.
A short online survey has been launched to gather feedback on what worked well, where improvements can be made and any additional suggestions from the community.
This winter, the County introduced new approaches to snow maintenance in an effort to continuously improve its response to snow events.
“While we recognize there is still progress to be made, we want to assure the public we remain committed to being innovative and enhancing our operations,” says the County.
Survey feedback will help inform the strategy for the next winter season, taking into account the County budget, personnel and equipment availability.
“Our teams implemented new methods and processes this season. We greatly value the public’s feedback, as we continue to enhance our snow maintenance program,” says Ryan Thomson, Director of Operations. “Whether responses commend our efforts or suggest areas for improvement, every comment will help guide us toward delivering a higher standard of service to the community.”
With over 2,000 kilometres of roads, crews must work within budget, staffing and equipment constraints, while responding as quickly as possible to each snowfall.
“We prioritize main roads and high-traffic routes first, particularly those crucial for emergency services and school bus routes, to ensure public safety. Less-travelled roads are cleared once these critical routes are addressed,” the County adds.
Numbered highways are maintained by the province, not by the County.
The survey is open until March 19 and can be completed online.
