Police Commission to deliver decision on LPS Chief’s disciplinary hearing in June

The Lethbridge Police Commission will take the next couple of months to make a decision regarding LPS Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh. 

A disciplinary hearing was held on Thursday, April 17, to address allegations that Mehdizadeh had violated COVID-19 public health orders in 2021. The hearing was ordered by the Alberta Law Enforcement Review Board on an appeal from a public complaint.

The board report is available here, with allegations six, seven and eight addressed during Thursday’s disciplinary hearing. 

A written decision is set to be delivered by the commission on June 16.
