Lethbridge Fire & EMS says personnel experienced delays while responding to two recent house fires, prompting a warning for the public to stay clear of active emergency scenes.
Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services crews are actively responding to a grass fire west of Scenic Drive, near the Water Treatment Plant and south of Whoop Up Drive.Â
With spring bringing warmer, drier conditions, southern Albertans are entering a period of heightened wildfire risk. This spring, regional fire departments have already responded to controlled burns that have gotten out of control. As such, Lethbridge County wants to remind residents, farms and landowners of the critical importance of abiding by the County’s fire bylaw and following safe practices when conducting controlled burns.Â
Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind you about the dangers of cooking with oil. LFES crews have responded to several recent incidents where cooking oil was left unattended on the stove, leading to flashover fires. Â
